RM of Invermay’s story
The Rural Municipality of Invermay No. 305 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 11, 1911. It lies in east-central Saskatchewan and is administered from an office in the village of Invermay.
Two villages, Invermay and Rama, sit within its boundaries, along with a scattering of smaller localities: Dobrowody, Dernic, Netherton, Lone Spruce and Mitchellview. The Whitesand River, Newburn Lake and Spirit Creek are among its notable waterbodies, and Highway 5 and the Canadian National Railway run through the municipality.
Today the RM is governed by an elected council and an appointed administrator. Visitors can see the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Rama, and the Invermay Fair is a local attraction.
